Create a gameboard for our Summer Reading Program
We are looking for artistic folks to create a gameboard for our annual Summer Reading Program. We'll be awarding a $50 gift card to Mother Myrick's Confectionery and a $25 gift card to Christo's Pizza to the artist whose gameboard is chosen this year. The deadline is May 30th.
The purpose of the gameboard is to provide a visual representation of the progress that each reader is making. It's a sort of road map so they can see what each step is along the way to the "Finish". The theme this year is "Celebrating Other Cultures!".

Here are the guidelines for your gameboard submission:
- It should fit in a "portrait" orientation on 8 1/2"x11" paper.
- It should be fun, but readable for youngsters in grades K-6. It needs to describe the various steps readers should follow as they progress through the program.
- The heading must read: Mother Myrick's Summer Reading Program.
- Be sure all writing is clear and legible and that all spelling is correct.
- We would prefer that the art work be hand drawn rather than digital or computer generated, though the latter would be considered.

Here are the "steps" that should be illustrated with your artwork on the gameboard for our readers to follow:
- Read 2 books and receive a special prize
- Read 4 more books and earn a set of Chocolate Surprises
- Bonus- Celebrating other cultures! Read 2 books about another culture. Learn more about the peoples' lives, arts, food and/or customs. For your bonus reward, create a project that shows, though we live differently, how we are the same. What do we have in common?
- Read 4 more books, receive Hidden Treasures from the Confectionery.
- Finish: Read 2 books by the same author and collect a Grand Prize!
